Raven Mine Action Campaign Kickoff

A new phase of action against the mine has opened!   This alert comes from:
John Snyder, CoalWatch Comox Valley Society;
Delores Broten, Comox Valley Water Watch Coalition;
Mike Bell, Sierra Club Comox Valley.

For the past three years, local governments, First Nations, the BC
Shellfish Growers Association, non-government organizations, and
thousands of citizens have voiced their concerns and/or opposition to
the proposed Raven Coal Mine Project near Fanny Bay, BC.

With the soon to be released Application/Environmental Impact
Statement by Compliance Coal Corporation, the environmental assessment
will enter the 180 day application review stage, which will include a
50 day comment period and culminate in the Ministers Review and final
decision. During this time frame there will also be a provincial
election scheduled for May 14, 2013.

We’re inviting you to visit our Raven Mine Action website: www.ravenmineaction.ca
Please sign up to receive time-sensitive updates and action alerts
about the Raven Coal Mine. The time is right to send a united message
of opposition, and we need your help now more than ever.

People in BC, and especially the Comox Valley, submitted more comments
than for any other project on the first phase of this environmental
assessment. Now we need you to do it again, just to make sure they
hear us!

Please share on Facebook and email your friends to spread the word.
Together we can make sure the Raven Coal Mine never happens!!
